SFC Air Race – Day 4: Birdsville – Tibooburra via Dig Tree & Cameron Corner:
For the final leg today FlightCharter flew over dramatic, rugged and remote country from Birdsville to Tibooburra. Highlights included visiting the famous Dig Tree (from the tragic story of Burke and Wills), and lunch in Cameron’s corner where you can be in three different states at once.
The competition was fierce with only seconds separating the winners. Unfortunately FlightCharter did not place this time around but we had a wonderful time and flew over 2000 nautical miles! Epic! We are also pretty chuffed to be the second highest fundraisers of the event.

SFC Air Race – Day 2 & 3: Broken Hill – William Creek – Birdsville:
Day 2 & 3 of SFC Air Race, and what spectacular scenery we’ve witnessed over the last few days.
On day 2 we flew from Lake Mungo over Flinders Ranges, Wilpena Pound & Leigh Creek before touching down at William Creek for the night. The team had a wonderful dinner at the historic William Creek Hotel before taking part in a sunset tour & admiring the beautiful starry sky.
Day 3 we flew from William Creek to Birdsville over Lake Eyre and the edge of the Simpson desert. After a great pub grub lunch at the iconic Birdsville Hotel the team went on a sunset tour of Big Red, enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sun set over the sand dunes.
As of today, we are still tracking in 3rd place, and the last race commences tomorrow morning.

We’re at it again… but this time we need YOUR help!
At FlightCharter, we are committed to making a difference in the community. Founder David Mackey has always had a strong sense of giving back and over the years has been part of many great initiatives to do just that.
One cause we feel very passionately about is ‘Angel Flights’. Angel Flight Australia is a tax-deductible charity that coordinates non-emergency flights to assist country people in accessing specialist medical treatment that would otherwise be unavailable to them because of the vast distance and high travel costs.
In one of our previous Angel Flights, the FlightCharter team volunteered the aircraft and crew to deliver short life medicinal treatments required by a patient in Brewarrina NSW. There is no airline service to Brewarrina and it is a 10hr drive, each way.

Next on our agenda to make a difference is the SFC Air Race for Angel Flight, which continues to raise life-saving funds for specialist medical treatment for people in rural communities.
Our team, the ‘FlightCharter Angels’ will be participating in the 5 day event, which involves a private plane GPS navigation time trial through outback Australia, commencing 31 March 2023.
Our goal is to raise funds for Angel Flight and dramatically increase public awareness of their charity via our participation and your support.
