FlightCharter.com.au is actively involved in fundraising for the RFDS via its involvement in The Outback Air Race. CEO & Chief Flight Manager David Mackey is the deputy Race Manager for the 2018 event as well as pilot for Team Lima Mike.
The Air Race is held every 3 years and since 1996 has raised in excess of $2.1M for the RFDS. The Race is organised and managed entirely by volunteers who give their time and expertise. David has participated in the 2012 and 2015 event and has been on the Organising Committee since 2015 and now holds the deputy Manager position.
The Outback Air Race is an ideal avenue for our support combining aviation and our vast country and delivering tangible care and benefits to the whole community – including those in less than remote areas.

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association is the peak body representing the aviation industry. FlightCharter.com.au is a Corporate Member & Sponsor of AOPA and we work closely with its executive to find ways of providing both direct financial and indirect support.
A major component of our support is sponsorship of the Freedom to Fly Display team. Currently this aerobatic team displays in Australia and China each year and seeks to create interest in and promote General Aviation to the wider community.
